How a job runs

Our house painting process, step by step

Hiring a painter shouldn't be a gamble.

The Never-in-the-Dark process

How your job runs, from walkthrough to sign-off

One person to call all job long. Accountability is built into our business model.

  1. An empty, symmetrical living room with olive-green walls, a white-mantel fireplace under a landscape painting, two cream armchairs, a wooden coffee table, and a cognac leather sofa seen from behind in the foreground.

    Consultation and proposal

Tell us about the project online or request a walkthrough. We walk the rooms with you, then send a detailed written quote: every room, every coat, one total.

  2. A brightly lit kitchen with white cabinets, a white marble island, four rush-seat wooden counter stools, two brass dome pendant lights, and a light oak floor with sunlight falling across it

    Meticulous prep

We scrape, sand, patch and caulk, and prime wherever the surface calls for it. We mask and drop everything to protect your belongings.

  3. A tidy bedroom at night with a gray upholstered bed made up in white bedding and a gray fringed throw, two lit ceramic table lamps on walnut nightstands, a framed landscape print on a pale blue wall, and a large window showing dark trees outside

    Expert application

Premium coatings go on in clean lines and even coats, and before we leave each day you get a short update on where things stand.

  4. A finished bedroom at dusk: a linen upholstered bed with white bedding centered under a landscape painting, between walnut nightstands with lit ceramic lamps and two tall white-trimmed windows

    Final walkthrough

We don't consider the job done until you've personally inspected and signed off on the work. Once you're satisfied, the job is complete and our warranty begins.

The end-of-day update

Four lines before we leave each day

Clear communication on every job, so you're never wondering about progress. Before we leave each working day you get four lines: what we finished, what comes tomorrow, a photo, and anything we need from you.

Sample update

  1. Done today: Second coat on the living room walls and the hallway ceiling.
  2. Tomorrow: Living room trim and doors, then we pull the tape.
  3. Photo: The finished ceiling line in the living room.
  4. From you: Nothing today. The hallway is clear to use tonight.

A sample, written for the demo. Your updates describe your own job.
