Exterior painting · May to October

Exterior painting

Siding and trim scraped, primed and painted for New Hampshire weather, from May to October.

What it involves

What exterior painting with us involves

Exterior painting covers your siding, trim, fascia and doors, prepared for New Hampshire weather and painted between May and October. Your written quote lists every side of the house and every coat, and that number holds.

Most of an exterior job is prep. We clean the surfaces, scrape and sand loose paint, prime bare wood and caulk the gaps, then paint siding and trim in conditions the paint needs. When rain moves the schedule, you hear about it the same evening.

What we paint outside

  • Complete siding repaints
  • Trim and fascia restoration
  • Deck and fence staining
  • Pressure washing and cleaning
  • Scraping and sanding loose paint

* Ask us about this at your walkthrough.

  1. Walk and quote

We walk the outside of the house with you, note the condition of each side, and send a written quote that covers each one.

  2. Clean, scrape and prime

We clean the surfaces, remove loose paint, prime bare wood and caulk the gaps before any finish coat goes on.

  3. Paint and inspect

We paint around the weather, send an update at the end of every working day, and walk the finished house with you.

Why homeowners call us

Every side of the house, in each day's update

An empty hallway at dusk with a lit brass dome lamp and a stone bowl on a walnut sideboard at left, a six-pane window in the center showing a blue twilight view of trees and water, a round woven jute rug on a wood floor, and a wooden staircase with white balusters at right.

The end-of-day update

What we finished, what comes tomorrow, a photo, and anything we need from you.

One total, written down

Every room, every coat and one total. The quoted number is the invoiced number, and it holds unless the job changes.

One point of contact

The person who quotes your job is the person who inspects it with you at the end.

The final walkthrough

We walk every side of the house with you

When the last coat is dry, the person who quoted your job walks every side of the house with you and checks the siding, the trim and the fascia. Your sign-off ends the job and starts the warranty.

A symmetrical two-story sage-green clapboard Colonial-style house with a gray shingle roof, two brick end chimneys, white-trimmed multi-pane windows, a pedimented portico over a black front door, and a bluestone path leading across a green lawn, framed by autumn trees under an overcast sky.

Exterior painting questions

Request a walkthrough
When do you paint exteriors?

From May to October, when New Hampshire temperatures and humidity let exterior paint cure properly. Interior work runs all year.

What happens when it rains?

We move the work to the next suitable day and tell you the same evening in your daily update, so a weather day is never a mystery.

What paint do you use outside?

We primarily use premium lines from Sherwin-Williams (Emerald, Duration) and Benjamin Moore (Aura, Regal Select). We can accommodate other high-quality requests if specified during the proposal phase.

Our house is older. Does the siding need lead-safe work?

If the house was built before 1978, scraping and sanding old paint falls under the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting rule. We are an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm (NAT-F349471-1). For homes built before 1978, we follow strict RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) protocols to ensure lead dust is contained and disposed of safely.
